2018 Book of Lists: San Leandro Remains Strong in the Bay Area

The San Francisco Business Times‘ annual publication, the Book of Lists, calls attention to some of the most prolific, successful, and visible businesses in the Greater Bay Area. This year, 13 San Leandro businesses, organizations, and projects are represented in 16 of the 117 categories. This unique issue provides the opportunity to see a cross-section of how local businesses fit in with the larger San Francisco Bay business community.

St Francis LogoWith construction on the rise, and contractors in high demand, the past year has been very competitive for Greater Bay Area commercial contractors. St. Francis Electric, Inc. remains near the top of the list of electrical contractors, in 8th place with $60 million in annual revenue, and among general contractors, Sausal Corporation is ranked 64th with $31.54 million in revenue, and Eric F. Anderson Inc. 69th with $24.72 million.

OSISoft, LLC continues to grow; San Leandro’s home-grown tech company stands as the 8th largest family business, 25th largest software company with 600 Greater Bay Area employees, and with $370 million in fiscal year revenue is the 33rd largest private company in the Bay Area.

Drake's LogoOur local breweries are also doing quite well. Producing 35,579 barrels of beer, Drake’s Brewing Company moved up one slot to the 6th largest brewery in the Greater Bay Area. With 105,000 barrels under their belt, 21st Amendment Brewery 21A Logoheld strong as the 3rd largest brewery, but its $26.85 million in sales also ranks the brewery as the 16th largest food and beverage manufacturer, up three slots from last year. Tortilla manufacturer Mi Rancho is the 4th largest Latino-Owned business and 11th largest Minority-Owned business, as well as the 15th largest Bay Area food and beverage manufacturers with its $35 million in fiscal year sales.

American Packaging Logo$18.47 million in revenue makes American Packaging the 35th largest Bay Area woman-owned business and with $348.78 million in fiscal year revenue the Regional Center of the East Bay, Inc. remains RCEB-Logothe 4th largest Bay Area nonprofit organization, providing services for those with developmental disabilities. Royal Ambulance LogoRoyal Ambulance, Inc. remains one of the best mid-size businesses for which to work, in 26th place.

Coca-Cola lands the 5th spot for Greater Bay Area Manufacturers with 900 Greater Bay Area employees, and UniFirst Corp. is considered the 15th healthiest employer with between 500 and 2,000 employees, as scored by the companies’ Bay Area Wellness Programs.

With a value of $181.25 million, the East Bay BRT project has earned a ranking as the 24th largest Transportation Infrastructure Project, and the San Leandro Chamber of Commerce ranks 25th among Bay Area Chambers of Commerce.
