San Leandro businesses who have previously received StopWaste grants are MedShare (Reuse & Repair Grant), and Community Impact Lab (Community Outreach Grant).

MedShare is a nonprofit that works with hospitals, distributors, and manufacturers to collect and redistribute medical products to healthcare facilities in medically underserved communities overseas as well as locally. MedShare utilized the grant to provide funds for a new and innovative biomedical equipment program to increase donations from hospitals and manufacturers to keep good equipment from being destroyed and landfilled.

Community Impact Lab is a nonprofit comprised of a diverse group of over 750 families that empowers its members to tackle social, economic, and educational disparities in their communities through monthly dinners, workshops, donation events, and more. With this grant, Community Impact Lab focused on building awareness and engagement in reducing wasted food by enlisting its members to take the six-week Stop Food Waste Challenge.
