The property owners Joe and Jeff Jajeh, architect Choi & Robles Architecture, LLP. and Office of Business Development staff recently collaborated through the City of San Leandro’s Design Assistance and Commercial Rehabilitation Programs to upgrade and modernize the appearance of the Davis Plaza Shopping Center at 1259 Davis Street. The importance of improving this highly visible commercial property lies in the property’s geographic location as a gateway into Downtown San Leandro from I-880. The improvements consist of new building paint, awnings, asphalt and parking lot re-striping, monument signage, landscape clean up, pedestrian walkways for better on-site circulation and removal of seating structures that encourage unlawful loitering and improve public safety. A few “before and after” photos are posted below.

The new color scheme alone brought it into the 21st century. Nice to have a better looking entry into Our Fair City.
