News Flash: That statue will not be in the heart of “downtown” San Leandro but on Alvarado by the SP railroad tracks. It is five blocks from East 14th Street, where most of the downtown shopping is located and East of the Bart station in an area boarded by office buildings and an older working class residential area.

Nothing wrong with being working class, but some of the newer and upscale housing is also in that part of town. Know your facts before branding a general area.
