In celebration of National Small Business Week, check out a local restaurant this weekend!

Why shop local?  When you shop local at San Leandro businesses more money stays in the community. Local  businesses often purchase from local suppliers, service providers, and farms,  supporting a healthy business and revenue ecosystem in the city. Buying locally helps to grow community businesses as well as the region’s tax base. It is important to remember that local businesses are most often owned by people who: live in this community, are less likely to leave, and are more invested in the community’s welfare and future. A marketplace of thousands of small businesses is a way to ensure innovation and lower prices over the long-term.  Independent, locally-owned businesses recirculate a far greater percentage of revenue locally compared to absentee-owned businesses. In other words, going local creates more local wealth and jobs.

Make a difference by shopping locally at one of our community’s many small businesses!  Check out the new site San Leandro Eats for some great ideas, or visit one of these restaurants or food and drink spots in your neighborhood that has earned top ratings on Yelp:
