The City of San Leandro is in the process of developing approximately 50 acres of its 950 acres of publicly owned shoreline.

The master plan for the site includes a conference center/hotel, a 250,000 square foot office campus-connected to the fiber optic loop, restaurants, community center with library, residential properties and multiple recreational improvements.

Cal-Coast Development was selected to work closely with City staff, the City Council and the San Leandro community to create a multi-faceted, successful development along San Leandro’s shoreline, and Exclusive Negotiating Rights Agreements with Cal Coast were approved by the City Council in October 2008 and April 2012.

Currently, an Environmental Impact Review is under way, with an expected completion in April 2014. Permitting and agreement processes should be completed Summer 2015, with Post-approval and pre-construction finaled in Spring 2016. Groundbreaking is anticipated in May of 2016.
