In the recent post, What to Watch For in 2016, we announced a number of new restaurants arriving in San Leandro this year. The latest addition is the highly anticipated Sons of Liberty Alehouse, currently under construction at the former site of Sergio’s Pizzeria that has remained vacant for several years.

SOLA ConceptThis Alehouse will offer a comprehensive and inventive dinner menu, including fried-to-order chicharrones, shrimp & grits, drunken mussels, stuffed poblano chiles, and braised short ribs. To pair a beverage with your meal, you will be able to choose from an eclectic collection of beers, including selections from local breweries. Classifying itself as a stylish, casual tavern, Sons of Liberty will also offer artisan cocktails and distinctive wines. In addition to generous bar and dining room seating, there will also be attractive patio seating for patrons wishing to dine outdoors. The design and construction of the outdoor areas and a new storefront are being funded, in part, through the City’s Facade Improvement Program.

SOLA 2San Leandro is grabbing a great deal of attention lately, as evidenced by the recent article in the San Francisco Business Times. While our local breweries have established firm roots in the industrial area, the Downtown area is responding in kind with new food and beverage establishments. We are excited to welcome Sons of Liberty to Downtown San Leandro.

We are SOoooo overdue to get some upscale attention and much needed restaurants. We are overloaded with both Mexican and Asian eateries, but few stand out further than average and none offer any ambiance short of occasional Mariachi runs at Tequilla grill.

When the Village went in and brought us Peets, Habit, AT&T and a new CVS, the changes were set in motion.
A revitalized BART station and the adjoining new High Tech Campus will bring much attention and revenue to our town.
Now PLEASE can we have more places with better food to eat? Please?
