On Friday, March 10, NBC Bay Area ran a heart-warming segment focusing on Dee Gonzales and her inspirational Downtown San Leandro thrift store, Treasures Hospice Thrift Shop, located at 1539 Washington Street.  In 2004, Gonzales opened the thrift shop with the sole purpose to raise money for the George Mark Children’s House, a hospice center offering transitional, respite, bereavement, and end-of-life care to severely ill children and their families. Since its opening, the Treasures Hospice Thrift Shop has contributed a remarkable $250,000 to George Mark Children’s House.

I love Dee, and all her helpers, at this great little thrift store. I donate all my “stuff” to them, and rarley make it out the door without making a purchase.on my way out.
Thank you Dee for all you’ve done!
