On Thursday, May 25, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. the San Leandro Improvement Association will launch the “Truth Thursdays” monthly food truck event.   The event will occur every fourth Thursday of the month at the San Leandro Tech Campus (1600 Alvarado St) in the plaza surrounding the 55-foot tall Truth is Beauty statue.  This event will feature Off The Grid Markets food trucks, beer from San Leandro breweries 21st Amendment, Cleophus Quealy, and Drake’s, as well as wine, recreational games and live entertainment. Co-hosted by Westlake Urban and OSIsoft, the event will be free to the public.

For more information about Downtown San Leandro’s “Truth Thursdays” or the San Leandro Improvement Association, visit www.downtownsanleandro.com. Future “Truth Thursdays” events will be held on Thursday, June 22 and Thursday, July 27 and will have rotating food trucks and live music at each event, so attendees can be sure to always experience something different every month.  Attendees are encouraged to ride BART to the event, or park in the BART parking lots.

Come to enjoy a great summer evening in Downtown San Leandro!

I’ve noticed these “Truth/Thirsty Thursday” events over the last two months. I’m a BART commuter and would like to attend today. Is there a break in the fence somewhere that allows direct access to the SLTC/this event, or does one have to go a block out of their way to Davis St. on the north or Williams St. on the south to gain access?
If the latter, I’ll pass; too much hassle.

Unfortunately there is no break in the fence at this point. Access to the SLTC would either be via Parrott Street on the south side of the BART station (which leads to their parking garage), or Davis, then Alvarado.

There is an engineered safe passageway between the new tech center property and to Bart
