Applications Now Open for Microbusiness Grants in Alameda County

On Tuesday, May 17, 2022, Alameda County is opening its application period for the California Microbusiness COVID-19 Relief Grant Program (MBCRG) to assist qualified microbusinesses that have been significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in California.

To qualify for one of the $2,500 grants, a business must have been in business in 2019, have been negatively impacted by COVID-19, made less than $50,000 in total revenue in 2019, and have less than five employees. Applicants’ businesses must still be operating or plan to reopen in 2022.

The grant is being administered by the Chabot – Las Positas Community College District. Visit this website to learn more about how to apply. The application period opens on May 17 and closes on August 12, 2022 at 5pm. The MBCRG Program provides approximately fifty million dollars ($50,000,000) in one-time grant funding to administer a Request for Proposal (RFP) for eligible grantmaking entities defined as a county government or consortium of nonprofit, community-based organizations. The intent of the funding is to provide relief to the hardest to reach microbusinesses and entrepreneurs.

    Iam a mother,my daughter is one yeas old.And i am a food delivery from DoorDash.Since the covid 19,my income was dropped because i need to sometime to takecare my daughter without daycare open.

  2. I am a sewing education instructor and had started a business under the business name Evelyn’s Touch Creations. I was teaching kids how to sew. But because of COVID 19, it come to a stop of plans. I am need of financial help in this area. I was thinking on making it a non profit. I would love to create new designs in the world. I have a designer background. And this was my dream.
