Celebrate the 2nd Annual Okdroberfest in Downtown San Leandro on September 14
On September 14, from 11AM until 5PM, the Downtown San Leandro Community Benefit District is hosting the second annual Okdroberfest: a traditional beer garden-style celebration in the parking lot at Washington and West Juana Avenues (100 W. Juana Avenue).
Last year’s inaugural event drew approximately 3,000 people to the Downtown area, providing locals with the much-desired opportunity to socialize and celebrate community.
There will be traditional beer garden music and family-friendly activities. Music will be provided by Alpine Sound, the Marinfidels, and Shane Dwight. There will also be a costume contest, so don your best Lederhosen or Tyrolean dresses!
There will be beer available from Drake’s Brewing, and 21st-Amendment Brewery, as well as Bavarian-style pretzels and bratwurst, provided by the San Leandro Rotary Club! Fieldwork Brewing is also opening their taps at their nearby storefront. And if beer is not your thing, Sons of Liberty Alehouse will be offering margaritas and non-alcoholic beverages.
Beer pours are $8 and are available only in the commemorative Okdroberfest stein which can be ordered for $25 (including two pours) or $35 (including four pours). Pre-event sale of the steins end on September 12, so buy yours now in order to skip the line at the event! Back by popular demand, the stein-holding competition comes with a $30 entry fee, which includes a souvenir stein and a 1-liter pour. If you forget to order ahead of time, don’t fret, steins and pour tickets will be available for sale on-site at the event.
