Community Ambassadors to Host Public Tours of Truth Is Beauty
Public tours of Truth is Beauty will be hosted by our community Ambassadors on Saturday mornings in November and December. Truth is Beauty is the second of three sculptures in a trilogy by Marco Cochrane, an American artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Standing 55 feet tall and weighing 13,000 pounds, Truth is Beauty is constructed of 20,000 feet of steel rods, covered with 2,000 square feet of stainless steel mesh, and is illuminated with 2,500 multicolored LED lights that can be displayed with infinite color variety. The sculpture poses a timely, compelling question: “What would the world be like if women were safe?” inviting us to think deeply about how to create environments that are safe, where women are respected, and where communities can prosper.
We welcome everyone in San Leandro to join us for a tour to learn her story.
From 11:00 am – noon on the the first 3 Saturdays in November and the first 3 Saturdays in December at the San Leandro Tech Campus, 1600 Alvarado Street.
