Evergreen Nursery Winner of StopWaste Business Award

Evergreen Nursery, a San Leandro business since 1984, has been awarded the 2017 Excellence in Waste Prevention & Closing the Loop Award by StopWaste.   Located at 350 San Leandro Boulevard, Evergreen Nursery is an independent nursery and garden center with professional landscape and design services.  The business received the award for its decade-long commitment to natural and organic gardening, providing an extensive line of drought tolerant and native plants, hosting talks and workshops on sustainable gardening techniques, and partnering with StopWaste for almost 10 years.

Each year, StopWaste presents awards to Alameda County businesses for their efforts to reduce waste to landfill through waste prevention, recycling and composting.  StopWaste is a public agency whose mission is to reduce waste through providing education and assistance to businesses across the county.

Alongside four other businesses, Evergreen Nursery and its General Manager Doug Swint, received great accolades from StopWaste Executive Director Wendy Sommer: “Laws only get you so far.
