Industrial Roundup: Mi Rancho Tortilla Co. and more
Industrial space in San Leandro continues to be in high demand. We are particularly encouraged that existing San Leandro businesses are seeking out opportunities to either expand their operations or purchase their buildings. Here’s a quick roundup of recent deals:
Mi Rancho Tortilla Company purchased the 85,000 square foot building it had previously been leasing at 427 Hester. Mi Rancho, a family owned business, began in Oakland in the 1930’s and has been in San Leandro since 1997. The company is large employer in San Leandro and appears to be putting down roots for the long run.
Hesco, which manufactures state-of-the-art portable x-ray systems, purchased 12,500 square feet at 693 Whitney Street to expand operations. The company previously was leasing 9,100 square feet at 1437 Doolittle Drive. Hesco’s clients include NASA, the US Air Force, Cal-Trans, and Lockheed Martin.
Andy’s Roofing Co. recently purchased 2161 Adams Ave, relocating to San Leandro from Milpitas. Past projects for Andy’s Roofing include San Jose International Airport, Hewlett Packard, and the Moscone Center.
Methods Machine Tools, Inc. celebrated the grand opening of their Technical Center at 650 Whitney Street this week. Methods Machine Tools sells leading-edge precision machine tools and solutions – providing superior products, engineering and automation, parts and service. Based on the high tech machinery on display at their new facility, MMT will be a huge asset for the growing cluster of advanced manufacturing firms in the region.
