San Leandro’s 3D-Printing Cluster Expands With Arrival of Sculpteo

various facets of Additive Manufacturing, more commonly known as 3D-printing. This hub resides in the Gate, an innovation incubator space located on Davis Street in San Leandro. The latest addition to this already impressive collection of innovative businesses is French additive manufacturer Sculpteo, whose San Leandro location is its first in North America.

Sculpteo specializes in online, made-to-order 3D-printing services. A customer just uploads a design, and Sculpteo will 3D-print the design and ship it to the customer. sculp1This platform has already proven successful in Europe, and the San Leandro location will enable service to the United States, Canada and Mexico. The process is user-friendly, the print quality is high, and the turnaround is quick. Sculpteo’s services are particularly valuable for manufacturers that engage in rapid prototyping, the process of quickly iterating new designs without the cost and time requirements of traditional manufacturing techniques.

Sculpteo is a welcome addition to the 3D-printing hub at the Gate, adding yet another cutting edge company to the building. Moreover, Sculpteo’s decision to bring its only North American location to San Leandro is an unmistakable recognition of the clear path toward innovative technology that San Leandro fosters, and a testament to the strength of the businesses already established here.
