Calling all Makers! East Bay Manufacturing Summit at ZNEC, September 18th
CALLING ALL SAN LEANDRO MANUFACTURERS AND MAKERS!
You are invited to join manufacturers, elected officials, and other key partners who play a role in supporting manufacturing at the first ever East Bay Manufacturing Summit, to take place at San Leandro’s Zero Net Energy Center on September 18th from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This Summit is sponsored by the East Bay Advanced Manufacturing Partnership*, an ongoing regional forum for East Bay companies involved in manufacturing to collectively address issues related to competitiveness and growth. San Leandro manufacturing is represented on the group’s Executive Committee by Hale Foote, President and Owner of Scandic, the largest spring and stamping company in Northern California and a long-time San Leandro business.
The East Bay Manufacturing Summit will recognize — and celebrate! — the significant economic impact of manufacturing to the East Bay and will feature the following:
- Welcome to the City That Makes Things by San Leandro Mayor Pauline Cutter
- Keynote by Rich A. Wells, Vice President of Operations, Canada and USA North, The Dow Chemical Company
- Panel discussions among manufacturers and public policymakers from federal, state, and local levels about:
Breakfast and lunch will be served.
Venue, transit & parking:
The event is at IBEW’s LEED Silver-certified Zero Net Energy Center, the first building in the country to be retrofitted zero net energy.
Transit – Take BART to San Leandro and connect to AC Transit 89 bus to Farallon Drive / Catalina St. The ZNEC is a 1 minute walk away.
Parking – Free at the ZNEC.
*The East Bay Advanced Manufacturing Partnership is supported by a collaboration of 10 community colleges, 5 workforce investment boards, California State University – East Bay and University of California – Berkeley, Manex, East Bay Economic Development Alliance, East Bay Leadership Council, Innovation Tri-Valley, and others. The Partnership is part of a U.S. Department of Labor-funded multi-year initiative in the East Bay under the White House’s Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College Career Training (TAACCCT) program.
