Celebrate New Public Art and Pop-Up Bike Lane This Weekend

The City is hosting a celebration event at Hesperian Triangle located at 14901 E 14th St on June 17, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The City has partnered with non-profit organization Smart Growth America, after being selected by Caltrans to participate as one of 3 local cities in the Safe Streets Academy. The goal of this partnership is to promote installations of temporary traffic-related, Complete Streets-oriented pop-ups.

As of now, there is a temporary pop-up bike lane on E 14th Street. The City is looking forward to gathering input from the community regarding future projects and plans in the area. This location was chosen as it will be the convergence point of two planned bikeway projects, the East Bay Greenway and the Crosstown Corridors, and will also tie into the planned future Transit Oriented Development at the Bayfair Mall site. This free event will feature music and interactive art from local artists, so it’s sure to be a fun and informative time. Hope to see you there!
