The Successor Agency to the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Leandro has just issued three Requests for Proposals (RFP) in an effort to secure developers for three exciting opportunity sites in the city.

town-hall-squareTown Hall Square is a unique development opportunity in the heart of Downtown San Leandro, located at the northwest corner of  E. 14th and Davis Streets.  Once home to the Alameda County Courthouse, the Town Hall Square site was identified in 2007 as a priority opportunity site under the City’s Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Strategy, the project has the potential to build upon recent higher density development in Downtown to positively impact the greater area.

The City and Successor Agency’s objective is to create a significant development at this site, which reflects the importance of its central location in Downtown San Leandro. Overall, the City would like to see a quality urban development that includes a mix of land uses, which could include retail, residential, and office uses.  A total of six publicly-owned parcels are being offered for sale, totaling 0.68 acre.

parrot-washingtonParrott & Washington (268 Parrott St./1595 Washington Ave.) is a valuable infill development opportunity centrally located in Downtown San Leandro.  Also identified as a strategic development opportunity in the TOD Strategy, goals for the site are for a mixed-use development, including retail and residential, that takes advantage of proximity to BART and other transportation, as well as shopping and activities in Downtown San Leandro.  The site consists of two publicly-owned parcels, totaling 0.42 acre.

fire-station-11Old Fire Station #11 (2101 Marina Blvd) was the site of a fire station from the 1950s until a new fire station was constructed in the area in the early 2000s.  The site consists of one 0.36 acre parcel, including an approximately 4,000 square foot building.  The project has the potential to capitalize upon a number of exciting changes coming to the Marina Boulevard corridor, including reconstruction of the Marina Blvd. interchange at I-880, a Marina Boulevard streetscape project, and the upcoming redevelopment of the San Leandro Marina.
