Hangar 24: Pugachev’s Cobra Vertical, Hammerhead, Chandelle, and more

January 23 / 6 – 11:30 pm / Harry’s Hofbrau / 14900 E. 14th Street
Harry’s Hofbrau will feature an eclectic selection of brews from Redlands-based Hangar 24.

Hopocalypse Day: Imperial IPA Festival

January 23 / 12 – 6 pm / Drake’s Brewing Company, 1933 Davis Street
This event will unleash the Four Horsemen of the Hopocalypse: four massively hopped Imperial IPAs. In addition to releasing both Hopocalypse Green Label Double IPA and Black Label Triple IPA, Drake’s be debuting its new White Label and Red Label Double IPAs on draft. “The end is beer.”

Beer Week Kick-Off Dance-Off

January 23 / 2 – 8pm / Cleophus Quealy Beer Company, 448 Hester Street
At this free event, local five-piece street band Banda Sin Nombre will lay down their worldly folk tunes, followed by Will Magid’s funky folk and trumpet stylings.

Drake’s Barrel-Aged Cellar Release Night

January 26 / 6 – 9pm / Drake’s Brewing Company, 1933 Davis Street
Drake’s is hosting an evening featuring some funky, sour, wood-aged beers pulled from the cellar and releasing a limited amount of bottles. There will be a great lineup of current Drake’s sours & aged beers on tap, along with Drake’s barrel program manager Travis Camacho who’ll be hanging out to chat barrels and bugs.

A Barrel Celebration

In collaboration with Drake’s, Cleophus Quealy will be releasing the very last keg of Batch 9 / Apricot Golden, a fruity delight that was aged in cabernet barrels for 10 months, then keg conditioned for 3 months. Additionally, all taps will be overtaken by the best barrel aged brews for one night only!

With a recently launched barrel program, 21st Amendment opens the doors to its San Leandro brewery for tours, and a special tasting of the “Construction Beer,” while “Taqueria/Food Truck La Poblana” creates great beer-inspired food pairings. Furthermore, “Rooster’s Cousin” David Higdon will be playing great tunes on his guitar in our brewery space.

Pints for Pups – Benefitting Rocket Dog Rescue

Rocket Dog Rescue will have adoptable dogs to meet at this benefit event where 10% of all beer purchases will go towards their great cause of saving dogs from overcrowded shelters.

Drake’s Sau & Brau VI

Sau & Brau returns for its sixth year of slow-roasting whole pigs, amazing side dishes, good company, and great beer pairings. This is a private event hosted at the Drake’s Barrel House in San Leandro where you’ll enjoy the feast of a lifetime and get to hang out with the Drake’s crew.

Tellez’s delectable flan, churros, and sweet tortillas will be paired with new releases and old favorites, including the effervescent and champagne-like Batch 63 / Cranberry Weisse and the coffee milk stout, Sweet Henrietta!


Fig & Fiddle

Join Cleophus Quealy for a special release of Batch 65 / Barrel Aged Figgy Barleywine in the intimate setting of the tasting room while enjoying some live, local bluegrass music by Skillet Licorice and the Santa Cruz Mountain String Trio. The Figgy Barleywine is a robust and warming winter ale made with mission figs and spices, and barrel aged with brettanomyces.


Chilaquiles & Chill

January 31/ 11am – 8pm / Cleophus Quealy Beer Company / 448 Hester Street

The tasting room will open an hour early for Canasta Kitchen, who will be serving up chilaquiles to ease the Beer Week hangover while you sip all of Cleophus Quealy’s special releases, including Batch 63 / Cranberry Weisse, Batch 65 / Figgy Barleywine, Batch 67 / BAM IPA, and Batch 43 / Blood Orange Saison.
