For nearly 20 years, the San Leandro LINKS Shuttle has provided free transportation between the Downtown San Leandro BART station and industrial and other businesses in West San Leandro.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the service has continued to serve riders by implementing a variety of safety protocols.  Buses are sanitized daily, masks are required, and social distancing is maintained.  According to LINKS Executive Director, Mike Oliver, “We want our riders to know that LINKS continues to operate on its regular schedule.  We have implemented safety protocols to protect our riders and drivers.  We anticipate that the roll-out of the COVID vaccine will further ensure rider safety and make riders feel confident continuing or returning to public transportation.”

LINKS offers comfortable buses and connects riders between the Downtown San Leandro BART Station to popular retail centers such as Marina Square, Costco and Walmart, Kaiser Permanente, industrial employers, and residential areas.  LINKS uses NextBus which allows riders to locate nearest stops, find real-time arrival estimates and get walking directions using the NextBus website and free mobile app.

The free LINKS shuttle receives funding from businesses along the bus route, the City of San Leandro, TFCA federal clean air funds and voter-approved Measure BB, which funds transportation projects throughout Alameda County.
