Prototyping the Future: Deploying Tomorrow’s Innovation Today

On October 28th and 29th, UIX Global, in partnership with its title sponsor, The City of San Leandro, will host the second annual Prototyping the Future Expo & Conference, at the Zero Net Energy Center in San Leandro, California. Prototyping the Future will explore how breakthroughs in technology and community engagement are shaping the development of sustainable, clean energy Gigabit and Smart Cities in the near future. Technical experts, development specialists, and city officials from around the Bay Area (and beyond) will engage in a lively exchange of ideas with their fellow tech and social innovation thought leaders, enjoying a compelling day of presentations, networking, and hands-on experience.

The conference will begin at 8 AM on October 28th and end at 5 PM on October 29th and will be hosted at the Zero Net Energy Center (14600 Catalina St, San Leandro, CA), a location that showcases the innovation related to energy efficiency and alternative energies happening today in San Leandro.

Prototyping the Future features speakers from experience design, venture capital, industry leaders from technology, education and healthcare, as well as Bay Area municipal government. Among other things, the Expo will showcase Peter Hirshberg, author of the Maker City Playbook; an introduction to Seasteading, a project piloting a floating city in the South Pacific; ZipPower San Leandro Smart Energy; and an introduction to Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and Civic Engagement.
