San Leandro “Keeping It Local” Campaign
The San Leandro Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the “Keeping It Local” campaign. In partnership with the City of San Leandro, the program highlights San Leandro businesses and encourages residents to shop local. During this unprecedented time, the Chamber and the City want to be part of the solution to get the community up and running again. Increasing the visibility of local businesses is one step forward.
This summer, we encourage all San Leandro residents and businesses to think local first when buying goods and services. Shopping San Leandro businesses has many benefits, including stimulating the local economy, building a closer community, reducing environmental impact, providing funding for local services, and supporting a unique and diverse local culture. For every $100 spent on a local business, studies show that up to $68 dollars remains in the local community. The COVID-19 pandemic and resulting protective measures have had a big impact on our businesses. We can all work together to support them and help them rebuild.
Visit the Chamber’s Keeping it Local Homepage to find an interactive listing of local businesses, services and entertainment, as well as a Job Board and businesses promoting their ‘Hot Deals.’ While all businesses may not be permitted to reopen at this time, check back frequently to see who’s open.
Through the program, all San Leandro businesses (whether they are Chamber members or not) can contact the Chamber to have their business’ information listed in the guide. Once signed up, they will also have access to promotional materials, including a banner for the physical business and badge for social media. Businesses will also have access to all of the Chamber’s information, tools, resources, and connections through the end of the year. In their time of need, we want businesses to have access to all of the support they can get.
