A renowned gourmet bakery has joined the San Leandro food manufacturing scene! Shaw Bakers, a manufacturer and distributer of breads and pastries has opened a state-of-the-art production facility 14490 Catalina Street. Known to many by their retail name, French-style La Boulangerie, Shaws was founded in 2015 by Pascal Rigo and Nicolas Bernadi.

On Tuesday, November 7, 2023, Shaw Bakers held a ribbon-cutting at their new production facility. Formerly an Otis Spunkmeyer facility, the site has undergone a complete transformation and the facility is now in production-mode.

The 90,000 square foot facility can produce up to 30,000 units of baked goods per hour. Shaw Bakers has made a multi-million-dollar investment in the facility, installing state-of-the-art equipment and is looking to hire locally. This location is a sister facility to their South San Francisco headquarters and their neighborhood bakeries in San Francisco.

Customers can order products directly from La Boulangerie and From Roy. From Roy offers a variety of incredible panettoni, Milanese, sweet and airy breads traditionally made for and enjoyed at Christmas in a variety of European countries.

Select products can also be found at Trader Joe’s and Costco, with the croissant toast, as well as smoked ham and Swiss cheese croissants (made right in San Leandro) getting rave reviews!

La Boulangerie also offers spreads such as fruit jams and soft caramel spread, as well as granola. Shaw Bakers prides itself on its premium ingredients. It uses only cage-free eggs, no trans fats, non-GMO ingredients, and no artificial preservatives.

Shaw Bakers joins a respectable and long-standing culture of food manufacturing in San Leandro, which has been home to a wide range of food makers for generations.

Will we be able to pick up items from this location or have them delivered? Delicious!

Does your company produce any bread, croissants, or brioches that are diabetics friendly, such as low-carb or even no-carb breads??? (Do you know how many diabetics patients are there in the entire U.S., including the patients in Bay Area and/or San Lendro & Hayward area???) If the answer is NO, then it’s so very important for your company to join those advanced, cutting-edged and CARING and Humanitarian Food-Poducing Companies to seriously consider for those poor diabetics patients!!!
Please get back to me for this important issue, so that would know whether I should start to buy bread products from your company, since (1) I live in Sn Leandro, (2) I’m diabetic.
