Last Friday morning, the three Startup In Residence (STIR) companies working with San Leandro staff took to ACT’s Strand Theater stage to present the technology solutions developed as a result of the City challenges issued in February 2016.  Along with the cities of San Francisco, Oakland, and W. Sacramento, the showcase included a welcome from Mayor Ed Lee (SF), Mayor Christopher Cabaldon (W. Sacramento) and Mayor Pauline Cutter (San Leandro).  The welcome was followed by presentations from all 14 startups and their partner cities.

The event was live-streamed via YouTube, and the resulting video is included below.  If you’d like to focus on the San Leandro STIR presentations, fast forward to minute 58:19 in the video below.

All of us who participated are looking forward to roll out of the technology applications developed by the talented, passionate and generous individuals who worked with staff for the last 16 weeks.  And we look forward to San Leandro’s continued collaboration with STIR startups to solve civic problems in the weeks to come!

Finally – Jay Nath, San Francisco’s CIO, published a blog about the STIR program on Monday morning that is a great complement to this blog.  Check it out!  Civic Innovation – From Hackathons to Startups in Residence (STIR)
