San Leandro by Design is back!  The San Leandro Chamber of Commerce is holding the annual summer series next Tuesday, July 16th from 3:30 – 5:30 pm. The event will celebrate, explore and engage in the transformation that is taking place in the City’s Downtown.  If you haven’t been to Downtown San Leandro lately, come to join in the conversation about all of the new projects in the works!

The event will begin with a presentation at the former CVS site at East 14th St. and Callan Ave., followed by a walking tour and ending with a mixer.  Chip Erickson, Co-Founder and Partner of Sansome Pacific Properties (SPP) will present SPP’s plan for development at 1188 East 14th St. and how it can add to the overall rejuvenation of Downtown San Leandro.  The proposed project, The Davis @ 1188, includes 197 residential units and ground floor retail, including a specialty grocer.

The group will then walk throughout downtown to visit other new and planned developments and businesses, including over 750 recently approved residential units, over 200,000 sq. ft. of new or renovated office underway, and exciting new retail and services, including restaurants, bakeries, yoga and co-working space.

In the meantime, you can also learn more about all of the great things going on in Downtown San Leandro and beyond by checking out San Leandro’s recent insert in the San Francisco Business Times, including a great story on Downtown, as well as a handy Development Map.
