Jin Gege
699 Lewelling Blvd, Ste 270

A new restaurant has taken over the space where Fusion Pot used to be at Greenhouse Marketplace. Jin Gege is gaining support among locals for its offering of Hong Kong-style soy sauce chicken, or “see yao gai,” a Cantonese favorite often found hanging alongside roast duck and poached chicken in Chinatown eatery windows.

The menu leans in favor of the staple soy sauce chicken as well as crispy roast duck with multiple dishes featuring these meats, but you can also get other traditional noodle dishes, such as curry fish balls, fried shrimp wontons, barbecue pork, beef in sour soup, dumplings, pork buns, and more.

While the dining area is small, the space is quite comfortable and the staff is friendly, even when things get busy. Due to the limited dining space, the restaurant sees quite a bit of take-out activity.

Locals favor the banner dishes, raving about the authentic flavor and consistently good quality. Menu prices may seem on the high side, but the portions are very generous.

The interior is clean, modern, and comfortable, with splashes of red and gold. So, whether you prefer to dine out or order in, put Jin Gege on your list of new and unique places to try in the year of the rabbit!
